Fly Fishing in a variety of dams & weirs
Fly Fishing only in all waters with the exception of Loch Heron (big dam),
where Bass rods & bait casters may be used.
Flies only, no lures. No barbed hooks, please.
Fishing License: rod fee’s (per fisherman) will be added to each booking,
the fee is booking specific, the more people fishing the lower the pp fee will be.
From R100 – R200 pp / stay. This includes the keeping of 1 fish per paid fisherman.
All waters with the exception of the big dam:
Fly rods only.
Children under 12 may use coffee grinders with flies.
Bring your own gear or hire in Dullstroom.
C.A.R. is preferred, should any fish be kept, or inadvertently hurt or killed:
Trout R120.00/kg. Bass R80.00/kg.
Float tubes / kick boats permitted on Loch Heron
A map will be sent via whats app prior to check in showing the stocked waters, once rod fee’s have been paid.
Trout are extremely weather sensitive fish & a sudden change in temperature or weather will put them off the bite, it may take a 3 – 4 days of consistent weather for them to start biting again.
We promote as natural an environment as possible and do not pellet feed our fish.
September is our favourite time of year for Fly Fishing.
The drought has had an impact on the fishing and water conditions in the Dullstroom area.
NOTE: Stocked waters do not guarantee that you will catch a fish; Nature
has the final say on fishing conditions.
ONLY FLY FISHING is permitted.

You can expect to drive from 4 to 5 km of dirt road to get to your cottage,
Higher clearance vehicles are always preferable on gravel roads, however we are accessible to sedans and many residents drive ‘normal’ vehicles,
low profile sedans are not recommended.
Only after a heavy rain may the road be too muddy for a standard vehicle.
We understand the cost that life today exerts & know that you value your privacy.
Chances are you won’t see us during your stay, unless you look for us.
We don’t want to intrude on your quality time & are either busy on the farm
or enjoying time with our own family.
There is always someone on duty & available.
